Thornhill Road could remain closed until 19th November

The road was closed at the beginning of November to repair a water main leak and was supposed to reopen on the 2nd November. Once the works were started it was found to be a much lengthier job.

In the latest update from South Staffs Water they said

“Work is continuing with specialist plant on site and from 10am on Thursday (November 11) there may be an increase in noise while we work.

“We are on course to complete the repairs at the weekend and then reinstatement of the road and pathways will take place at the beginning of next week. The road will need to stay closed until the reinstatement is completed.

“We have a road closure permit until 19 November, but we are working day and night to complete these essential works as quickly as possible, so that we can reopen the roads as soon as it is safe to do so.”

A diversion route has been put in place to help navigate the closure.
