Beautiful flooring begins with the preparation you don’t see. 🏡
This substantial transformation was completed for a Checkatrade customer in Hinckley, with 65m² of wood-effect LVT installed in a classic herringbone pattern throughout the kitchen, dining area and lounge.
Before fitting could begin, the BRF team carried out extensive subfloor preparation. This included carefully preparing over the existing ceramic tiles and installing 6mm flooring-grade plywood in the lounge to create a smooth, stable surface.
The herringbone pattern was then precisely aligned and installed to flow beautifully between the adjoining rooms, creating one cohesive finish throughout the home.
Swipe through to see the preparation, installation and completed transformation.

SUNDAY LUNCH AT THE GREEN HOUSE 🍽️
We popped into The Green House for Sunday lunch and, as always, we were not disappointed. The food was lovely, the service was excellent and we thoroughly enjoyed our visit.
We also had the pleasure of meeting Cheryl, the new manager who has taken over from Steve. She made us feel very welcome, and we wish her every success in her new role.
Thank you to Cheryl and the entire team—we’ll see you again very soon!

🌿🐦 HELPING OUR GARDEN WILDLIFE 🐝💧
With the warm, dry weather continuing, a few simple things in our gardens can make a big difference to local wildlife.
Fresh water, a little shade and a few stones for bees and insects to land on can provide a much-needed helping hand. 💚
And don’t forget to keep water bowls topped up and refreshed regularly.
Small actions really can make a big difference. 🌿🐝🐦

🏁 REMEMBER WHEN DRIVING WAS ACTUALLY FUN?
Modern cars are quieter, smoother, safer and packed with technology… but somewhere along the way, have we lost a little of what made driving exciting?
At Raw Rides, it’s all about getting back to the essentials.
No being cocooned away from the road. No feeling like you're simply travelling from A to B.
Instead, it's about that raw connection between driver, machine and the open road — feeling involved in every mile and rediscovering what driving can really be about.
Raw Rides was created by lifelong motoring enthusiast Richard Hardy, whose passion for three-wheelers has taken him considerably further than the average Sunday drive — including extensive tours to Istanbul and Morocco.
So, if you think driving should be about more than simply getting somewhere…
If you still get excited by an empty stretch of road…
And if you'd rather have an experience than just a journey…
🏁 Maybe it's time you discovered Raw Rides.

🎭 FROM SCRIPT TO STAGE… BLACKADDER II TAKES SHAPE IN SHENSTONE

A script, a rehearsal room and perhaps the occasional cunning plan… 😁
Preparations are well underway as From the Top Theatre Company gets ready to bring Blackadder II – ‘Off With His Head’ to Shenstone Village Hall this September.
And while audiences will eventually see the costumes, scenery and finished performances, there's something rather special about seeing a production at this stage — scripts still in hand, characters beginning to emerge and a company gradually turning words on a page into a night of live theatre.
At the centre of the mayhem is Dan Barnes as Edmund Blackadder, surrounded by some wonderfully familiar characters including Dave Crump as Baldrick, Debbie Crump as Queenie, Jodie Cockeram as Nursey, Andy Betteley as Lord Melchett and Simon Baker as Lord Percy.
They're joined by a terrific local cast including Eliza Del Cisne as Bob, Elliot Beech as the Bishop of Bath and Wells/Flashheart, Matthew Collins as Walter Raleigh and Meirion Buck as Captain Rumbeard, alongside Sarah Corden, Richard Pritchett, Sasha Barnes, Tina Romano and Jon Hall.
But this particular Blackadder has another interesting story behind it.
Cast members Dave Crump and Elliot Beech have adapted the scripts themselves, combining a number of classic stories from the second television series into this new stage production.
Dave also takes the director's chair, assisted by Rosie Coles, as the company works through the timing, characters and glorious absurdity that make the world of Blackadder so much fun.
And judging by these rehearsal photographs, they're already having rather a good time doing it. ❤️🎭

Next time we'll look at another side of this production — how do you turn a village hall into the Elizabethan court of Blackadder?
Apparently, it takes rather more than a turnip and a cunning plan… 😉
