Tomorrow is National Fitness Day 2026 – a nationwide celebration of the positive role physical activity can play in our health, happiness and wellbeing.
Led by ukactive, National Fitness Day has been encouraging people to get moving since 2011, inspiring millions across the UK to become more active.
This year’s theme is “Powered by You” – a reminder that being active doesn’t have to mean running a marathon or spending hours in the gym.

🏋️ Try a fitness class
🧘 Enjoy some yoga

I’m looking for a good, reliable tree surgeon in the Sutton Coldfield area.
It’s only a relatively small job – one tree, that needs reducing at the top and shaping at the sides. I’d particularly love to hear from people who have personally used someone and would happily recommend them.

🎶 THE HILLS ARE ALIVE IN LICHFIELD! 🎶
One of the world’s best-loved musicals is heading to the Lichfield Garrick this September, as Lichfield Operatic Society presents Rodgers & Hammerstein’s timeless classic The Sound of Music. 🎭
And this production comes during a particularly special year for the Society, which is celebrating an incredible 130 years since it was founded in 1896.
Remarkably, this will only be the third time Lichfield Operatic Society has staged The Sound of Music, with its most recent production taking place back in 2013.
This time, Samantha Hedley takes on the iconic role of Maria, alongside Cameron Morgan as Captain von Trapp, with Shannon Robinson as Liesl, Leo Foetu-Foster as Rolf and Dawn Welch as Mother Abbess.
But there's a rather lovely family story happening behind the scenes — and on stage!
Several generations of the same families are appearing in the production, most notably Rosie Pilling as Louisa von Trapp, her mother Kate Pilling as Elsa, and grandparents Lynne and Dave Hill as Frau Schmidt and Franz. That's quite a family night out! ❤️
Of course, The Sound of Music brings with it one of musical theatre's most recognisable scores, including Do-Re-Mi, My Favorite Things, Climb Ev'ry Mountain and, naturally, The Sound of Music itself.
